Green Globes
Is similar to LEED, but was developed as an alternative and cost cutting green initiative compared to LEED. Where some facilities are not able to be LEED certified, Green Globes can certify almost any facility if appropriate green updates have been implemented. Three project types are available for certification: New Construction, Existing Buildings, and Interiors. Within this, there are four different ratings that can be achieved for earning a certification.
LEED®
Developed by U.S Green Building Council, LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the universally accepted green building system that covers all elements of a structure including: site, water, energy, materials, air quality, and design innovation.
Through implementing greener concepts, every building can move closer to creating minimal impacts on the environment. It can be as easy as automatic lighting, low-flow toilets, recycling, etc. Any building/site can be improved, by one step at a time.

Level™
Developed by BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association), the BFMIA e3-2008 Furniture Sustainability Standard is a sustainability standard and third-party certification program for the furniture industry.
Taking into account a company’s social actions, energy usage, material selection and human and ecosystem health impacts, level™ addresses how a product is sustainable from multiple perspectives. ISO 14001 as well as OHSAS 18001 certification can help a company pursuing level™ certification for their products, earn the maximum amount of points in the several categories quickly and easily.
JT Environmental Consulting is proud to have a certified level™ Faculty Member on staff. The Faculty Member is authorized to present a continuing education course on level™ for any interested party.
M2M Green Initiative
Developed by HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development), the standard is for a nationwide initiative to encourage owners and purchasers of affordable, multifamily properties to rehabilitate and operate their properties using sustainable Green Building principles. These principles comprise sustainability, energy efficiency, recycling, and indoor air quality, and incorporate the "Healthy Housing" approach pioneered by HUD.
The Green Initiative will focus on properties within HUD’s Section 8 portfolio, specifically properties in the Mark to Market (M2M) Program administered by the Office of Affordable Housing Preservation (OAHP).
